For a reduction done to BS 3998, yes. The tree responds to good cuts, regrows from the right points, and within two or three growing seasons looks natural again.
For most broadleaf species, up to a third of the canopy in one visit. For mature or stressed trees we are more conservative and may recommend a phased reduction over two visits.
Most species: late autumn through to early spring while the tree is dormant. Cherries and other Prunus are best reduced in summer to avoid silver leaf. We will advise on the day.
